Brian Gallagher

President

Brian Gallagher has been the President of Gallagher Investigative Services for the last decade. Gallagher is an internationally recognized investigative and security firm with clients across the globe. 

Mr. Gallagher is a highly decorated former New York City Police Detective Investigator. He was responsible for the training, management and  implementation of narcotics canine teams  in the New York City Police Department. He and his narcotics dogs have been involved in cases that have received national and even world-wide attention, including several of the largest narcotic seizures in New York City history.  Mr. Gallagher responded to such situations as the World 
Trade Center bombing,  airline crashes, police shootings, and major organized crime and narcotic cases. Mr. Gallagher served as K9 coordinator during the search and recovery effort at the World Trade Center.  

 Mr. Gallagher's background, which ranges over three decades in law enforcement, has been spent in the field of police canine work and narcotics investigation. He began his career with the Metro North Police Department,  where along with patrol duties, he was assistant trainer for the patrol and detector dogs. Upon his transfer to the NYPD,  Mr. Gallagher was assigned to the 44 Pct.,which at that time was the busiest precinct in New York City. Upon assignment to the Department’s elite Organized Control Bureau Narcotics Division's Special Projects Unit, he was assigned to the narcotics detector canine unit, utilizing the canines in   cases that lead to the arrests of  many narcotics offenders. Mr. Gallagher has received specialized training from the NYPD Intelligence Division  in Dignitary Protection.and the United States Customs Service in Canine Detection.




Mr. Gallagher's expertise in canine narcotics detection led to his being appointed trainer for the Narcotics Division's Special Projects Unit.

Mr. Gallagher is recognized as an expert in all facets of police canine work  including patrol, narcotics, explosive,cadaver and wildlife. He has also been recognized by the NYS Supreme Court as an expert witness on narcotics canines. He is also recognized nationally as an expert on electro-magnetic traps and concealment devices in vehicles, aircraft and dwellings; having taught a course in this topic in the H.I.D.T.A. program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. 

He and his canine partners have been the subject of many news articles, being featured in Reader’s Digest, Hello Magazine, The Daily News, New York Post, New York Observer, The National Canine Courier, NBC, ABC, WPIX, The Today Show, Good Morning America,  Fox News Channel, 1010 WINS News.  He has received many awards, including the coveted NYPD Medal for Valor and the NDDA Medal of Honor. In addtition, he has received over 400 awards from the United States Police Canine Association
